  • Pyramid Security officers must be attentive, proactive, hands-on, and pay attention to details on the job site. Security officers must be ready to act when there is reasonable suspicion of danger or in an emergency.
 
  • Pyramid Security officers must be able to maintain their composure to alert the fire department, emergency medical service, or police and explain in detail the emergency taking place.
 
  • Pyramid Security officers must be able to observe and report incidents at the job site. Incidents must be recorded in the incident report logbook and be reported to the supervisor or management as soon as they take place.
 
  • It is important that Pyramid Security officers make themselves visible at their posts. The presence of a uniformed security officer serves as a deterrent to criminal activities.
 
  • Security officers must make hourly rounds or patrols at the job site to observe and report suspicious or unusual activities. These hourly rounds must be recorded in the logbook provided at all Pyramid Security job sites. The activity logbook must be completed at the end of each patrol. The activity logbook must be neat and well maintained. Handwriting must be easy to read and understand. 
 
  • Security officers must know the locations of the fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and other emergency equipment at the job site.
 
  • Security officers must also be familiar with the fire safety and emergency fire evacuation procedures of any job site they are posted to.
 
  • Incident reports are for documenting incidents at the job site. Who was involved in the incident, what the incident was about, when the incident took place, where the incident took place, why the incident happened, and how the incident happened are the key points that must be included in the incident report. Incidents must be documented immediately after an incident occurs.
 
  • Pyramid Security officers must have the ability to exercise self-control in the most extreme and challenging situations.
 
  • Security officers must always be aware of people entering and exiting the job site. Officers must request identification from all visitors and staff who are entering the job site.
 
  • Pyramid Security officers are responsible for making sure that the job site is safe and secure. Security officers also double as safety officers on the job site.
 
  • Pyramid Security officers must make sure fire safety protocols are being observed at the job site.
 
  • Security officers should be familiar with the emergency action plans of any job site they are posted to.
 
  • Pyramid security officers should make sure that all fire prevention protocols are being observed at the job site.
 
Responsibilities of a Pyramid Security Officer
Pyramid Security Officer Code of Conduct
 
  • Security officers are always to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Always wear a smile, be polite, and be courteous to clients and members of the public.
 
  • Security officers are to refrain from the use of personal properties of the clients for personal use. Personal properties include computers, laptops, telephones, printers, copiers or other equipment on the job site. Clients' telephones may be used only in an emergency.
 
  • Security officers are to be properly dressed in complete Pyramid Security uniforms while on duty.
 
  • Security officers must be well-groomed, maintain good personal hygiene, always look neat and have a professional appearance.
 
  • Punctuality is required of all Pyramid Security officers.
 
  • Damage to properties of Pyramid Security Group and its client is prohibited, security officers found to be responsible for acts of vandalism would be terminated immediately and sued for damages.
 
  • Security post orders for each site must be followed to the last detail.
 
  • Running late for your shift? call dispatch or your supervisor to give them a heads-up on your impending lateness.
 
  • Security officers that need to call out of their scheduled shift must do so at least 8 hours before the start of their shift to give dispatch enough time to find a replacement. The exception to this rule is an emergency, in which case security officers can call out any time prior to the start of their shift. Security officers who utilize the emergency call-out system must show proof of the emergency before they can be allowed back to work.
 
  • Not showing up for work and not informing your supervisor or management that you would not show up for work (No call no show) is strictly prohibited. Security officers that violate this rule would be terminated immediately.
 
  • Consuming alcohol and smoking on the job is prohibited.
 
  • Security officers should refrain from threats or using threatening words in the workplace or on the job site.
 
  • Threats of physical harm are prohibited in the workplace.
 
  • The use of electronic devices and accessories on the job site is strictly prohibited. Electronic devices include headphones, DVD players, laptops, tablets, and cell phones.
 
  • Cell phones are permitted for use only in an emergency.
 
  • Sleeping is not permitted while on duty.
 
  • Pyramid Security Group does not tolerate insubordination, any security officer that is disrespectful to a senior officer would be suspended for two weeks and if this action persists, that security officer would be terminated.
 
  • All complaints or inquiries about employee welfare should be addressed to the Human Resources Department at hr@pyramidsecuritygroup.net.
 
  • Security officers must be properly relieved before leaving their posts. On no occasion should a Pyramid Security officer leave his or her post unattended.
 
  • Contraband items are not allowed in the workplace or on the job site. Contraband items are guns, kitchen knives, pocket knives, sharp objects, and any items that can cause bodily injury or death.
 
  • Pyramid Security Group cultivates a drug-free environment. Security officers that show up to work drunk or highly intoxicated or under the influence of controlled substances would be terminated with immediate effect.
 
  • Security officers are prohibited from borrowing money or requesting to borrow money from clients.
 
  • Security officers must always have their valid licenses in their possession, this includes security guard license and other licenses required on the job site. 
 
  • Security officers must always have their Pyramid Security Group photo identity card displayed in a visible location on their uniforms.
 
  • Security officers must refrain from disclosing company information to clients. dissemination of company information to clients is strictly prohibited.
 
  • Lost or damaged identity cards should be reported to the supervisor immediately for a replacement.
 
  • Identity cards with the Pyramid Security Group logo are the property of Pyramid Security Group and should be returned to the company if or when employment is terminated either voluntarily or involuntarily.
 
  • Friends and family members are not permitted on the job site. Exceptions are made in case of an emergency.
 
  • Security officers must be able to communicate properly in English.
Uniforms
  • Security officers are required to wear their assigned uniforms given to them during the hiring process, wearing unapproved uniforms is strictly prohibited.
 
  • Uniforms must always be cleaned and ironed.
 
  • Only black shoes, boots, and socks are permitted on all Pyramid Security Group job sites.
 
  • Only black tactical pants or combat pants are permitted for construction site security officers.
 
  • Construction site security officers must wear their safety gears or PPE (Personal Protective Equipment's) at all times.
  • Only Pyramid Security Group branded uniforms are allowed on a Pyramid Security job site.
 
  • Pyramid Security Group supplies all uniforms, uniform accessories, shoes and boots at no cost to security officers.
 
  • If uniforms are lost or damaged, please inform your supervisor immediately so a replacement can be provided in a timely manner.
 
  • All uniforms, shoes, uniform accessories, security equipment, and construction safety equipment that bear the Pyramid Security brand name or Pyramid Security logo are properties of Pyramid Security Group and should be returned to the company if or when employment is terminated either voluntarily or involuntarily.
Appearance
 
  • Male Security officers must have a neat clean-cut appearance. Female security officers are prohibited from having outlandish hairstyles. Artificial hair color is prohibited especially bright colors. Hair color must look natural. Black, brown, blond, natural red hair, natural gold hair, and brunette are the approved hair colors for male and female security officers.
 
  • Pyramid Security officers can complement their uniforms with accessories like tie clips, cuff-links, muffler scarfs during cold weather, ties, wedding rings and wrist watches. 
 
  • Bracelets, large rings, and chains are not allowed.
 
  • Only one ring on each hand is acceptable.
 
  • Only small earrings are allowed, large earrings are prohibited.
 
  • Fingernails must be short and neat. Women can paint their fingernails with only dull colors. Fingernails painted with bright colors are prohibited.
 
  • Minimal makeup is acceptable for women.
 
  • Security officers might be required to make some extra adjustments to their hair and facial hair depending on the preference or specification of the client.
 
  • Construction site security guards must always wear their safety gears or PPE (Personal Protective Equipment's) at all times.
Safety
Pyramid Security Group Safety Program

Safety is very important to us; we take the safety of our workforce very seriously. All Pyramid Security Group security officers are required to take the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 & 30-hour safety training course before they can be posted to any job site. When a security officer is posted to a job site, he/she must observe the safety rules and procedures at that site. Security officers must also familiarize themselves with all safety rules and procedures at their job sites. Any security officer that refuses to follow the safety procedures at the job site would have their employment with the firm terminated. Security officers must also be familiar with the fire safety and evacuation procedure of any job site they are posted to.

 

  • Security officers posted to construction sites must utilize the safety instructions and knowledge obtained in their OSHA 10 and 30-hour training class when working on a construction site.

  • All security officers posted to construction sites must always observe safety and fire protection protocols at the site.

  • Security officers posted to construction sites must always wear personal protective equipment’s (PPE) when working on a construction site.

  • Security officers must know the location of the first aid box and the fire extinguishers on a construction site.

  • Security officers posted to construction sites must always wear a dust mask when there is sawing or cutting going on at the site.

  • Security officers must always have torch lights in their possession.

  • Security officers posted to homeless shelters, residential buildings, commercial buildings or retail locations must refrain from getting into physical altercations with anyone at the job site.

  • Security officers are only allowed to observe and report suspicious activities and document those suspicious activities.

  • Security officers posted to retail locations are trained in apprehension and defensive tactics to avoid any injuries.

  • Armed security officers must always have their bulletproof vests on. Any armed security officer that is found to have reported for duty without wearing a bulletproof vest would be suspended without pay for two weeks.

  • All security officers both armed and unarmed are to refrain from lifting any heavy equipment or objects on the job. If a piece of heavy equipment must be lifted at the job, officers are advised to use mechanical assistance or call for help.

  • Armed security officers must always be attentive and protect their firearms.

  • Both armed and unarmed security officers must call the police as a first resort in an emergency.

  • Security officers must document unsafe practices in the workplace. Unsafe practices should also be reported to the site manager or supervisor.

  • Security officers that feel too sick to report to work are advised to call out sick, a sick officer can lose concentration at work and put themselves and their co-workers in danger.

  • Security officers must adhere to the post orders of the job site they are assigned to.

  • Security officers must refrain from participating in any work that is not described or outlined in the post order for the site.

  • Security officers should refrain from physically restraining anyone involved in a fight at the job site.

Site Safety Guidelines for Security Officers

Workplace Accidents and Injuries

Pyramid Security Group employees are covered by workers compensation insurance which covers the medical cost of employees injured on the job. Workplace accidents and injuries should be reported immediately to the employee welfare and Human Resources Department by email at hr@pyramidsecuritygroup.net or by phone at (646) 250-3811.

 

Please note: When you become an employee of Pyramid Security Group, you agree to abide by our rules and regulations and our safety procedures. Any security officer that disobeys our rules and regulations would have their employment terminated effective immediately.
